A DOT physical, also called a CDL physical, is a test of your general health, mental and emotional well being and is a requirement that is mandated by federal law for anyone planning to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).
All CMV Drivers must pass a DOT physical exam to ensure they are fully equipped to handle the physical demands of operating a commercial vehicle. This can include long driving hours, hectic and exhausting schedules, and high stress.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)—the organization that sets regulations for the trucking industry—requires drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) to receive physical exams regularly. The FMCSA only allows certified medical examiners (CMEs) to perform DOT physical exams
The physical examination portion will check the body for abnormalities and focus on the following:
Pricing options:
DOT Physical Exam: $99.00 $90
DOT School Bus Physical Exam: $65
There are several things you can do to be prepared for your DOT physical exam depending on your particular situation, such as drivers who have specific medical issues.
In order for your DOT exam to go as smoothly as possible, arrive early, be prepared, and bring any personal documents and information you might need.
To save time, you can fill out your Medical Examination Form, or Form MCSA-5875, ahead of time.
Please bring a valid driver’s license to your DOT physical.
If you already have a medical card, you should have it with you when you arrive at your DOT Physical.
If you have any relevant medical records or history that the physician should know about, please bring it with you.
All DOT physicals can be performed within the comfort of our Mobile Health Clinic at your business, thus allowing employees to return to work quickly.
An excellent option to increase productivity by eliminating the inconvenience of sending employees to offsite clinics. Employees will be back to work within 30 minutes.
